Flights
The nearest airport to San Cristóbal is in the city of Tuxtla Gutiérrez. Participants can fly directly to Tuxtla Gutiérrez (TGZ) from Houston (IAH), or alternatively into Mexico City (MEX) and from there make a domestic connection. Most major airlines fly into Mexico City, and both Aeroméxico and Continental have flights to Tuxtla. Because of flight schedules, we recommend flying to Tuxtla on Tuesday, February 14.
Taxi fare from the Tuxtla airport to San Cristóbal is approximately MX$400 (US$35) per person. Travel time is about 40 minutes to an hour and a half, depending on traffic and weather (if it rains, it will take a bit longer). The road to San Cristóbal is paved and safe.
